Folk activities in early autumn

The customs and activities in beginning of autumn are: eating watermelon, basking in autumn, putting autumn fertilizer, holding autumn sticks and drinking autumn water.

1. There is a custom of "beginning of autumn gnawing autumn melons" in the south. Eat more watermelons in autumn to prevent autumn dryness.

2. Sunbathing in autumn is a typical agricultural custom phenomenon with strong regional characteristics. Villagers living in mountainous areas such as Hunan, Guangxi, Anhui and Jiangxi. Because of the complex terrain, they have to use the roofs in front of and behind their houses and their own windowsills to hang crops.

On this day in beginning of autumn, people call it "autumn fat".

Beginning of autumn's "stand" means the beginning, and "autumn" refers to the maturity of crops. Beginning of autumn said that summer is cool and autumn begins, which is a solar term reflecting the season.
