What are the disastrous weather that affects our country? The cause of the disaster, the harm it brings and how to prevent it.

There are mainly meteorological and climatic disasters (floods, droughts, typhoons, sandstorms and cold waves) and geological and geomorphological disasters (earthquakes, desertification, soil erosion, landslides and mudslides).

Major disastrous weather in China

1, cold wave

Formation time: late autumn, early spring and winter (especially the cold wave in late autumn and early spring is the most harmful)

Hazard: cooling, strong wind and frost.

Affected areas: Other areas except Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, Hainan Island and Taiwan Province Island.

Cause: Strong cold air moves southward rapidly (i.e. cold front weather).

2. Typhoon

Formation time: summer and autumn

Hazards: strong winds, heavy rains and storm surges caused by them.

Affected areas: East coastal areas of China (especially Taiwan Province, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces).

Cause: Cyclone (low pressure) is formed on the tropical ocean surface (temperature above 26℃).

In favor: it plays an important role in alleviating the drought in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

3. Drought and flood disasters

Flood and drought disasters are a kind of meteorological disasters that have the greatest impact on China. It is caused by the intensity and location of the subtropical high.

Weak subtropical high-slow rain belt movement-southern waterlogging and northern drought
