Where is the Chevrolet Sail idle valve?

The Chevrolet Sail idle valve is next to the throttle. The idle speed control valve is installed on the side vent hole of the throttle. According to the ignition signal, when the engine speed is lower than 750 rpm, even if the idle speed control valve acts to increase the engine speed, it will stop acting when the engine speed exceeds 1050 rpm. In vehicles equipped with air conditioning system, this control valve is also called idle acceleration valve. After the air-conditioning compressor operates, the engine load is generated, which reduces the engine idle speed, and the idle speed control valve acts accordingly to maintain the idle speed stability.

Function of idle valve

The idle speed control valve is installed on the air passage next to the throttle. When idling, the throttle valve is closed, and the airflow enters the air inlet through the idling control valve. Air flow sensor, also known as air flow meter, is one of the important sensors of EFI engine. It converts the intake air flow into an electrical signal and sends it to the electronic control unit as one of the basic signals to determine the fuel injection quantity.
