In recent years, Hanfu culture has been highly respected. Is Hanfu a formal suit?

Culturally speaking, Hanfu should be regarded as the traditional costume of our country. Since entering the modern society, traditional clothing has been gradually replaced by simple and convenient clothing of western civilization, so now China's formal dress is mainly simple and modern, and Hanfu can only be regarded as a trend, and has not been listed as formal dress by the state.

Of course, there is no relevant legal provisions in the country to strictly define what is formal dress. Dressing is people's freedom, and any clothing style can be worn. But if you work in some formal departments, you should dress according to the requirements of the staff. For example, you need to wear formal clothes for taking work photos, ID photos and wedding photos. The so-called formal dress includes simple clothes such as suits, shirts and ties, not fancy clothes.

Hanfu can be worn in some informal occasions, such as leisure, shopping, entertainment and travel. It is no problem to wear Hanfu on these occasions, and no one will interfere.

China has a cultural history of more than 5,000 years, and each dynasty has its own costumes with dynasty characteristics. The costumes in the Qin and Han dynasties were solemn and rigorous, and the costumes in the Tang dynasty were gorgeous and open, which showed the face of the Tang dynasty well. The costumes in Song Dynasty are graceful and beautiful. Manchu robes in Qing dynasty are also very distinctive.

These are all our cultural treasures, but unfortunately, in modern society, modern culture and ancient culture seem to be completely out of touch, and we don't have our own national costumes. Although Korea and Japan are also modern societies, they both inherit ancient traditions. Kimono is the national costume of Japan and Hanbok is the national costume of South Korea, but we can't find out which dynasty's clothing belongs to our traditional clothing.

Some people may say that cheongsam is our traditional clothing, but the design of cheongsam has become more and more dependent on modern clothing design concepts. Besides, cheongsam is a fashionable dress in modern times. Except for some classical elements of neckline, the whole design concept belongs to the combination of Chinese and western. Strictly speaking, cheongsam does not have the characteristics of traditional clothing.
