Why are purees drinkable but essential oils are not?

? This question cannot be generalized. Puree is not to be taken orally under any circumstances and by any group of people, while not all essential oils are not to be taken orally. Different situations are treated differently.

First of all, for the pure dew, the content of the aromatic molecules is far less than the essential oils, only about two to three thousandths of a percent, these aromatic molecules and the message molecules it carries "to start the human body's self-healing system, arouse the body's self-healing ability, and the human body's composition of 70% of the water, the body's ability to heal itself, and the human body's ability to heal itself. The composition of the human body is 70% water, more interaction with the pure dew, produce a subtle response, the lower the concentration, on the contrary, can achieve the more powerful effect.

These "tiny but powerful" properties are gentle, safe, and highly effective, and can be widely used on the elderly, pregnant women, infants, and even pets.

However, some of the active ingredients of the Purell have been clinically proven to contain estrogen-like functions, which can affect the human hormonal system, and these Purells are not suitable for use on pregnant women, infants and children, as well as on patients suffering from hormone-related cancer diseases. Examples include yarrow, happy sage, hyssop, and winter-scented peppermint.

Secondly, most essential oils, as far as oral consumption of essential oils is concerned, are not allowed to be taken orally. Pure essential oils are fat-soluble, highly pure, highly concentrated, small molecules, high-speed penetration, and skin irritation, pure essential oils taken directly orally are very likely to cause irritation and burns to the gastrointestinal mucosal tissues.

More importantly, some essential oils are clinically proven to be "toxic", including oral toxicity, hepatotoxicity, neurotoxicity, and even carcinogenicity. Essential oils such as White Pearl, American Wild Peppermint, Winter Peppermint, Clove Leaf, Sacred Basil, Hyssop, Balsam Feverfew, and Clary Sage have been shown in animal studies to be toxic in large amounts by mouth. It has been proven in animal studies to be lethal when taken orally in large quantities, mostly due to the fact that it contains ingredients that can cause serious damage to the liver and kidneys, leading to failure, and in a few cases, it affects the nerves in the brain. Be careful!

At the same time, almost all substances need to be metabolized by the liver, essential oils are chemically diverse and highly concentrated, and some, such as clove, aniseed, peppermint, and cinnamon bark essential oils, can lead to an overburdened liver, destroying the body's detoxification mechanism, but this is only true in the case of long-term, large quantities of oral ingestion, and massage or inhalation will not produce hepatotoxicity.

But there are also some categories of essential oils such as chaste tree, cardamom, coriander and other especially targeted and safe essential oils, can be used for short-term mixing of vegetable oils for oral consumption, used to deal with the digestive system, the endocrine system and other emergencies, and can not be taken for a long time, so as not to aggravate the burden on the liver.

Orally consumed should pay attention to: Pure essential oils are fat-soluble rather than water-soluble components, direct drops of pure essential oils in water, essential oils will float on the surface of the water and can not be dissolved and diluted, then taken orally will cause burns and corrosion of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and the digestive tract.

If you really need to use essential oils orally, you should do it under the guidance of a professional aromatherapist, and at the same time, you need to dilute the essential oils by dropping them into an orally consumed vegetable oil. If you are not accustomed to the taste of oral vegetable oils, you can buy special essential oil emulsifiers, or drops of essential oils in milk, yogurt and other fat-rich substances emulsified after oral.
