Quanzhou Prefecture Temple of Literature was built in the Tang Dynasty at the end of the year, the then Chancellor Zhang Jiuling inscribed plaque "Lu Sikou Temple". Northern Song Dynasty Taipingxingguo early years moved to build the Temple here, and then several repairs, left school right temple, the system gradually complete, the scale is constantly expanding, covers an area of nearly 100 acres, forming a Confucianism as the center of traditional Chinese culture in the southeast coast and even Southeast Asia, an important base for the wide dissemination of the important base. It is the largest temple complex in the southeast region, and was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 2001, and is one of the two national key cultural relics protection units in Fujian Province. The heavy-eaved hipped structure of Dacheng Hall in the Temple is the only one of its kind in Quanzhou at present, and it represented the highest architectural specification at that time. Luo Zhewen, Shan Shiyuan and Huang Jingliu, experts from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH), have visited the temple several times and concluded that the Dacheng Hall has basically preserved the structure of the Song Dynasty, which is rare in Fujian Province.
Quanzhou Prefecture Temple of Literature building scale, is a set of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties in the four architectural form of the Confucian temple of the ancient architectural complex. The main building Dacheng Hall is a typical Song Dynasty heavy eaves hipped structure. The body of the temple for the arch lifting beam structure, the entire hall with 48 white stone columns multiplied by the support, there are eight stone dragon eave columns, Dacheng Hall in the center of the statue of Confucius, hanging on the beam of the Qing Emperor Kangxi Imperial "Ten Thousand Teachers Table". Dacheng Hall east of Chongsheng Hall, the famous eunuch shrine, Minglun Hall. Inside the temple, many cultural relics are well preserved, such as the Fuzi Spring Well, which is inscribed with a poem by Song Taishou. These buildings constitute a complete Temple of Literature complex.
