The difference between missiles, all kinds of differences.

Missile is the abbreviation of "guided missile". It is an unmanned weapon which can control the flight trajectory through the guidance system, specify the target and even track the target movement. Its task is to detonate the warhead near the target and damage the target, or directly hit the target with its own kinetic energy without using the warhead, so as to achieve the damage effect. In short, a missile is a weapon propelled by its own power plant, guided and controlled by the guidance system, and directed to the target. Missiles can be divided into two categories according to their flight trajectories in the air, namely, flying missiles and ballistic missiles (also known as winged missiles and wingless missiles). A flying missile flies in the atmosphere with wings, tails and rudder attached to it. The trajectory of ballistic missiles is mainly outside the atmosphere and has no wings.

Cruise missiles have good maneuverability and strong penetration ability.

Cruise missile is one of the largest cruise missiles with the longest range, and it is also the only missile that can be equipped with nuclear warheads to carry out long-range strategic attacks. It is actually an airplane drone. It can navigate automatically, be propelled by a jet engine, support its weight by aerodynamic lift, and fly at the most favorable speed and altitude. It has the advantages of strong penetration ability, good maneuverability, high hit accuracy and strong destructive power.

At present, only the United States and Russia in the world are equipped with strategic cruise missiles that can carry out nuclear strikes. The BGM- 109 Tomahawk multi-purpose cruise missile developed by the United States is the most famous cruise missile in the world, with a speed of 880 kilometers per hour and a longest range of 2,500 kilometers. Since the Gulf War, this cruise missile has been widely used in various local wars launched by the United States and has become one of the main weapons for the US military to realize the concept of "zero casualties" on the battlefield. The KH-55 air-to-ground missile equipped by Russian long-range aviation can accurately strike targets 3000 kilometers away. In addition, Britain, French, China, Indian and other countries also have the ability to manufacture cruise missiles.

Ballistic missiles have high speed and long range.

The biggest difference between ballistic missiles and cruise missiles lies in the flight mode. Ballistic missiles, except for short-term dynamic flight and guidance in the atmosphere, all fly along an elliptical trajectory only affected by the gravity of the earth. Ballistic missiles must pass through the atmosphere in the takeoff stage, but in the forward stage of level flight, they mainly enter the atmosphere at high altitude or in outer space with scarce air, and in the descending stage (generally about 80 kilometers from the ground), and then use inertial guidance to attack the target.
