How to do Shu embroidery?
Shu embroidery uses a variety of stitches, or alternating thickness, or a combination of reality and reality. These traditional skills are not only good at embroidering delicate meticulous paintings such as flowers, birds, insects and fish, but also good at expressing magnificent landscapes and portraying vivid characters. After liberation, Shu embroidery has made some innovations in stitches, such as "cross stitch" to show the texture of animals' fur, "spiral stitch" to show people's bun, and "covering the needle with reality" to show carp scales, which greatly enriched the expression form and artistic style of Shu embroidery.
Shu embroidery takes soft satin and colored silk as the main raw materials, and its embroidery and stitch characteristics can be summarized as follows: neat stitch, bright, tight and soft silk thread, and twisted home. The so-called "car" refers to the key parts of embroidery, such as the eyes of animals and the petals of a flower, which start from the center and gradually expand around. The so-called "twisting" refers to gradually adding and subtracting stitches from the periphery of the embroidery object with stitches of different lengths. This unique embroiderer makes embroidery easy, powerful, moderate and dense, so Shu embroidery has the artistic effect of freehand brushwork in ink and wash. The development of Shu embroidery, a traditional craft, is often strongly supported by painters. For example, the embroidered screen of Zhao Yunyu's excellent work "Sketch of Xue Tao" was processed and recreated by an embroidery craftsman.
Shu embroidery also uses "thread embroidery", that is, using techniques such as halo, yarn, rolling, hiding and cutting on white satin fabric, using needle as ghost pen and thread as ink to embroider smooth, unique and colorful handicrafts. These not only add the moist feeling of pen and ink, but also have a smooth and transparent texture.
