What are the toppings of onigiri

There are many toppings that can be put inside the onigiri, such as beef, eel, salmon, crab, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms and so on. Usually our homemade onigiri may fall apart easily, so you can wrap the whole onigiri with seaweed or add glutinous rice to increase the stickiness of the onigiri while cooking.

Onigiri is a traditional Japanese food that is tasty and easy to carry around, whether you buy them at a convenience store and heat them up for busy times, or make your own to take to work or school as a lunchbox.

There are many different toppings that can be put inside the onigiri, from beef to eel, salmon, crab, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and even cheese and meat floss, so it's not set in stone.

When we usually make our own onigiri, the rice may not stick well and the onigiri will be loose easily. In this case, we can wrap the whole rice ball with seaweed to prevent it from falling apart, or add glutinous rice to increase the stickiness of the rice ball when cooking.
