The simple and common logistics operation mode is that the third-party logistics enterprise independently contracts part or all of the logistics business of one or more manufacturers or distributors.

Logistics outsourcing can reduce inventory, even achieve "zero inventory", save logistics costs, and at the same time streamline departments, concentrate funds and equipment on core business, and improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Third-party logistics enterprises form long-term cooperative relations with customers in the form of contracts, which ensures their stable business volume and avoids idle equipment. This model is centered on manufacturers or distributors, and the third-party logistics enterprises hardly need to increase special equipment and business training, so the management process is simple. Orders are completed jointly by producers and sellers, and third-party logistics only completes contract services and does not interfere with the production and sales plans of enterprises.

At present, most domestic logistics businesses are in this mode. In fact, this mode is not far from the traditional transportation and warehousing industry. This method takes manufacturers or distributors as the center, lacks the cooperation between third-party logistics, and fails to achieve a wider range of resource optimization. The biggest defect of this model is the lack of communication information platform between production enterprises, sales enterprises and third-party logistics, which will lead to blindness of production, waste or shortage of transportation capacity and unreasonable inventory structure. Moreover, according to statistics, the current logistics market is dominated by subcontracting, and the proportion of general agents is small, so it is difficult to form scale effect.
