It was created by Brian Eno in the 70's, and is a very "advanced" type of electronic music. Later on, Ambient also has branches, such as Ambient House, Ambient Techno ...... and so on. This technique is often used in live performances to remix songs. For example, Massive Attack's album Protection was remixed by Mad Professor from trip-hop to dub.
