PC members are prestressed concrete structures.

Prestressed concrete structures, a type of structure in which concrete is pre-stressed before the load is applied. Prestressing improves the tensile capacity of concrete when subjected to loads, prevents or delays the appearance of cracks, and increases the stiffness of the structure, saving steel and cement. Pre-compressive stress is used to reduce or offset the load-induced tensile stress in concrete, so that the tensile stress in the structural members is controlled in a small range, or even in a pressurized state, in order to delay the emergence and development of cracks in concrete, thus improving the crack resistance and stiffness of the members.
