[Petrochemical Shu Hua] Ice Crack

Ice crack

Author: Zhu

Aesthetic principle has an important law of incomplete beauty. The beauty of imperfection is manifested in the imperfection of structure or content in art, but it can give people strange aesthetic feeling and infinite significance. Milo Venus and Cao Shi's Eighty Chapters of a Dream of Red Mansions is an excellent example of incomplete beauty. Sometimes it is manifested in turning decay into magic and iron into gold. In western painting, impressionist masters Monet and Van Gogh often show a strange artistic effect between an old chair or a few broken houses; In Chinese painting, strange trees and rocks, broken branches and leaves can make people have unlimited imagination.

In China's traditional art, ice crack is a typical beauty of transforming decay into magic deformity.

I spent my childhood in the rural areas of northern Jiangsu. In the severe winter of March 9, the river in the wild formed thick ice, which is a good place for skating. Knock the ice with a pestle and put a small piece under your feet to make skates. When the stick is knocked down, the ice will crack, and many white cracks will appear, and sometimes water will gradually seep out of the ice. The ice cracks are intertwined and winding away, which is really beautiful. The application of this crisscross texture to artistic creation was successful, and the clever porcelain maker was the first to be popularized. The opening of the Ge kiln is an excellent example.

According to legend, in the Southern Song Dynasty, there were two Zhang brothers, both masters of porcelain burning, who opened their own kilns. "Longquan County Records" cloud: the world called its brother kiln. Ge kiln is a giant in folk kiln, which can compete with official kiln. "Drinking Liuzhai and Talking about Porcelain" contains: Ge kiln, with fine fetal quality, firm nature, heavy weight, many broken lines, cracked like roe, and also with large and small broken lines, that is, open.

Opening the film is a unique decorative style of Ge Kiln. The so-called crack, that is, ice crack, is a crack caused by different expansion coefficients of fetal glaze. Cracks in the glaze are actually a defect, but they are skillfully used as decorative patterns by porcelain makers, with exquisite effects and a sense of nature and ingenuity. I have always liked the glaze of Ge Kiln, which is as clear as the shallow water of Xi Chun.

In addition, there is a kind of natural stone called ice grains on the world-famous Guangdong inkstone, which is priceless. "Gaoyao County Records" records that there are three layers of ice particles in Daxi Cave, which are as white as cobwebs and densely distributed vertically and horizontally, which are not found in other caves. It is also described in the history of inkstone, which is white and dizzy, with traces and no traces, as thin as cobwebs and as light as lotus roots, and is called ice particles. Tailstones with ice particles are quite rare. If the ice particles are blue and white, it is a masterpiece. Mr. Hu Yuan, a collection expert in Gu Yan, has been searching hard for more than 20 years, but he only met once and kept it a secret.

The natural and elegant beauty of ice cracks has attracted the attention of countless artists. Mr. Zheng Xiaoshan, a painter in Yangzhou, applied the beauty of ice cracks to Chinese painting and created a peculiar artistic effect. Among them, there is a Chinese painting called Sunny Day, which is a representative work that embodies the beauty of ice seams. The overall composition is fresh and lively, and the artistic conception is simple. This is my favorite work. On the picture, many branches and vines became interlaced lines, which were cut into large and small pieces, and red fruits were scattered alternately between vines. He used this crystal-clear beauty of ice cracks to sweep away the decadent and weird wind in today's painting world and created a world full of vitality, health, purity and clarity.

Xiao Shan, a contemporary young flower and bird painter, graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. At first, he painted meticulous flowers and birds, which attracted the attention of painting circles because of its fresh artistic conception and unique techniques. In recent years, he painted freehand brushwork. In terms of brushwork, he adopts the ice crack structure of lines and injects bright colors into the picture, so that any of his works give people a bright and pleasant feeling. I have frequent contact with Mr Xiaoshan. He is gentle and well spoken. He is one of my favorite painters.
