Why is xenon lamp much brighter than LED?
Compared with ordinary bulbs, xenon bulbs have two obvious advantages: on the one hand, the illumination of xenon bulbs is three times higher than that of ordinary halogen bulbs, but the energy consumption is only two-thirds of that of ordinary halogen bulbs; On the other hand, xenon bulbs use almost the same color as sunlight, creating better visual conditions for drivers. Xenon lamp makes the illumination range wider and the illumination intensity greater, which greatly improves the driving comfort. However, in rainy and foggy weather, the penetration of xenon lamp will decrease and the irradiation effect will be ignored.
Xenon lamps are not like ordinary halogen tungsten filament bulbs. Xenon lamp needs xenon generator excitation, commonly known as ballast.
The starting time of xenon headlights is about 5 seconds, and the general xenon headlights can reach normal brightness in 5-8 seconds. As far as brightness is concerned, xenon lamps are brighter than LED lamps, and the modified xenon headlights are more popular in the market at present. However, due to the slow start-up, the state stipulates that xenon lamps shall not be used in car headlights high beam. Of course, from the perspective of scientific and technological progress, LED lamps are definitely better than xenon lamps, and xenon lamps are better than halogen headlights.
