How are the bourgeoisie, middle class, and proletariat defined? Is being rich bourgeois?
According to Lao Ma's theory,
the bourgeoisie is defined as those who hold the means and instruments of production, or those who work with capital (investment) for gain, such as factory owners and financiers.
The proletariat is defined as those who do not control the means of production and produce by selling their labor.
The middle class, as a rising class, is not strictly defined. Vaguely, it can be considered that brain laborers and service workers are considered middle class. Most of the middle class wealth is family-based.
In Lao Ma's theory, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat are opposites. The factory manager wants to increase earnings and reduce costs, so he wants to keep wages down. And workers always want to get a raise to enjoy a good deal. On the basis of this theory of Lao Ma, countries have derived many ways to ease class conflicts.
Being rich is not necessarily bourgeois. Capital is not the same as money. It's the way money works that counts as capital.
As an example, Wang Sicong took a billion dollars from his father and has money, but if he uses it to spend money, he is only rich, not a capitalist.
If he took this money to engage in real estate development as his dad did, then this money began to operate, it is considered capital, he is even the bourgeoisie
