The main ideas of constructivist learning theory and educational revelations

Constructivist learning theory is a major development of cognitive theories of learning, and its emergence has been hailed as a revolution in contemporary educational psychology.

(1) The developmental clues of constructivism:

Behaviorist learning theory is based on objectivism, that is, the belief that things and their meanings exist independently of human beings. Consistent with behaviorism, learning theories of information processing are also basically consistent with the objectivist tradition. Constructivism, on the other hand, is opposed to objectivism, which emphasizes that meaning does not exist independently of us, that individual knowledge is constructed by people, that the understanding of things depends not only on the things themselves, that the sensory stimuli (information) of the things do not have meanings of their own, and that the meanings are constructed by the people, which at the same time depend on the background of our original knowledge and experience. Different people will have different understandings of the same thing due to different original experiences.

From the origin of reality, constructivism is proposed in response to the many disadvantages of traditional teaching. Traditional disadvantages: (1) incompleteness (2) inertia (3) inflexibility. How to narrow the gap between school learning and real life, and realize the broad and flexible transfer of learning, which is one of the core concerns of constructivists.
