Brief introduction of Thailand Songkran Festival
Songkran Festival is a traditional festival in Thailand and Laos. The festival lasts for 3 days and is held from April 13 to June 15 in the Gregorian calendar every year. The main activities of the festival include fasting monks to do good deeds, bathing and purifying, people splashing water on each other to pray for blessings, worshipping their elders, releasing animals and playing songs and dances. The word Songkran Festival comes from Sanskrit, which means to advance, and refers to the sun's orbit into Aries Palace.
