What is clay art?
Mud sculpture art is an ancient common folk art in China. In folklore, commonly known as "colorful sculpture", "mud play". It is made of clay as raw materials, handmade into shape, or vegetarian or colorful, to the characters, animals, mainly, quite popular among people.
In the long history of clay art development process, folk artists with natural or inexpensive materials, can make exquisite small crafts, showing their wisdom and ingenuity.
After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, folk colorful sculptures won the favor of the people, the most famous of which is Tianjin's "Mud Man Zhang" and Wuxi's Huishan Mud Man.
