Are the elixirs such as "Hongshengdan" refined by the Elixir family in the Ming Dynasty?

Thus, in the late Ming Dynasty, there was an important turning point in China's alchemy-Dan medicine changed from oral administration to external use. In the forty-five years of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (16 17), the prescription of mercuric oxide pills was recorded for the first time in the book Authentic Surgery written by Chen Shigong. According to the author's simulated experimental research, the refined product of the "elixir method" contained in it is pure mercury oxide (Zhao Kuanghua and Zeng Jingmin: China Ancient Elixir and Mercury Oxide in Medicine, Volume 7, No.4, Research on the History of Natural Science, 1988, pp. 356-366). At the end of Ming Dynasty, Lu Zhiyi said in the book Elegance of Compendium of Materia Medica: "There are two ways to smelt mercury powder, namely dividend distribution. One or two ounces of silver, one or two ounces of alum, one or two ounces of sea salt, one or two ounces of soapstone, and two ounces of mirabilite are used for summer heat. ..... Red people only use one or two ounces of mercury, two ounces of flame nitrate and two ounces of alum. The same research is very good, and the upgrade method is the same as that in Bai Tong. ..... This law is kept secret by the Dan family, not selfish, for the public. " This shows that the Dan medicine such as "Hongshengdan" still used in TCM surgery is the contribution of Jindanjia in Ming Dynasty.
