Which four joys do the four joys pills refer to
The four joys of fortune, wealth, longevity and happiness.
Four Happiness Meatballs is one of the classic traditional Han Chinese dishes, belonging to the Lu cuisine family. It consists of four meatballs with excellent color, aroma and taste, symbolizing the four joys of life: happiness, fortune, longevity and joy. It is often used as the grand finale of banquets such as wedding banquets and birthday banquets to take its auspicious meaning.
Often people think that the four happy balls is braised lion's head, in fact, this is a kind of wrong idea. In addition to the meat filling, the real Sihi Dumplings are filled with diced mushrooms, fresh bamboo shoots, capers and ham.
The origin story of Sikki Dumplings?
Legend has it that "Four Happiness Dumplings" originated from the Tang Dynasty, when the imperial examinations were held and students from all over the world gathered in Kyoto, and Zhang Jiuling was one of them. On the day of the opening of the list, Zhang Jiuling, who studied hard, won the first place in the high school, and his outstanding talent was recognized by the emperor, so the princess was betrothed to Zhang Jiuling, who became the emperor's extra horse harnessed by the side of a team.
At that time, Zhang Jiuling's hometown was flooded, and his family left the country without any news. On the day of the wedding, Zhang Jiuling learned of the whereabouts of his parents and brought them to the capital. Really happy, Zhang Jiuling ordered the kitchen to cook an auspicious dish to celebrate. When the dish was served, it was four large balls deep-fried with a soupy consistency.
Zhang Jiuling asked the cook what this meant.
The cook pondered a little, "This dish is 'four rounds'. The first round, the master of the gold list; the second round, the old family wedding; the third round, the master has become the son of the emperor's son-in-law; the fourth round, the family reunion."
Zhang Jiuling heard a laugh, clapped his hands and praised, said: "four rounds, not as good as the four happy, the name is called better, why not just call this dish 'four happy pills'." From then on, whenever a wedding and other celebrations, the banquet must have this dish.
