How to insert a double J tube

Direct insertion method. Suitable for double J catheter with side hole on one side. Insert the guide wire into the catheter along the end hole to straighten it, put the power-assisted catheter into a predetermined length through cystoscope, fix the power-assisted catheter, and exit the guide wire.

Guide wire guiding method. Suitable for double J catheter with side holes at both ends. Insert the guide wire into the end-hole ureteral catheter, insert the ureter with the guide wire into the renal pelvis through cystoscope, then pull out the ureteral catheter, keep the guide wire, and then push the double J catheter along the guide wire.

Transurethral ureteroscopic catheter insertion.

This method can be used when retrograde intubation through cystoscope fails or stone street is formed after ESWL, and double J tube drainage is needed.
