The Origin of China Calendar —— On the Origin of China Calendar
1. The first calendar in China was about 4000 years ago. According to a page of Oracle bone calendar in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, it is proved that the calendar of Yin Dynasty has reached a considerable level. Calendar is the oldest almanac of all mankind, and this page of Oracle Bone Inscriptions is also called calendar.
2. The real calendar is thus produced. About 1 100 years ago, during the Yongzhenyuan period in Tang Shunzong, the imperial calendar was already used in the palace. The first day is a page, recording the state, court events and the words and deeds of the emperor. The imperial calendar is divided into twelve volumes, each volume has the same number of pages as the number of days per month, and each page indicates the number of days and dates. Later, when it was developed, the date, date, holidays and other contents were written on it in advance, and the notes were left blank below, similar to the current "desk calendar". At that time, the eunuch who served the emperor wrote down the words and deeds of the emperor in the blank space of the calendar. At the end of the month, after being verified by the emperor, it was sent to the historian for the record. This was called a calendar at that time. After these days, it has been used as the basis for historians to write national history.
Later, the court ministers followed suit and compiled calendars for their own use. As for the monthly calendar, it developed into various forms such as wall calendar and desk calendar, which only took nearly a century. With the development of the times, although the types of calendars are increasing and the patterns are constantly being renovated, the pattern of ancient calendars is still maintained.
