2023 Guangyuan Daughter Festival Office Location

The main venue and opening ceremony of the Guangyuan Daughter Festival 2023 will be held at the mouth of the two rivers at the confluence of the Jialing River and the Nanhe River.

Reproducing the beautiful scene of "the 23rd day of the first month, women swim in the river bay" through cultural performances, colorful boat parades, mass cultural activities and other forms. In addition, the main venue will also host popular activities such as the Fengzhou race and fireworks feast. In addition to the main venue, a number of different series of activities will be held in the branch venues, such as fluorescent night run around the lake, dating conference, marathon and so on.

In order to guarantee road traffic safety and smoothness during the opening ceremony of the 2023 China Guangyuan Daughter Festival, it was decided that some roads in the urban area of Guangyuan would implement temporary traffic control. Including Lizhou West Road, Riverside Road, 352 Road intersection to Riverside No. 1 intersection, Gudu Road, Ao Aid Bridge to Tiancheng Bridge, Shanghai Road, the entire section (Nanshan Lijing to the south end of Tiancheng Bridge).

Historical origin of the Daughter's Festival

Guangyuan Daughter's Festival is a unique traditional festival of the people of Guangyuan to commemorate a generation of empress Wu Zetian. Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan, the old folk to Wu Zetian's birth date on the twenty-third day of the first month for the session, women in groups to Huangze Temple, Zetian Dam and Jialing River to play, in order to pray for good luck. After thousands of years of evolution, it has become a unique local festival.

After 1949, the festival was discontinued, and in 1988, Guangyuan City established the "Daughter's Festival", which is celebrated on September 1 of each year on the Gregorian calendar. The festival has evolved from a simple worship of Wu Zetian and boating in the river bay to a comprehensive festival called a platform for showcasing modern women's styles.
