This is the general principle and policy of all our work.

Basic policy: it is an important guiding principle for a certain job. The basic principle of "one country, two systems" is formulated for the great cause of the complete reunification of the motherland, and it is the basic principle for handling the relations between Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province. Another example is: the policy of "respecting labor, knowledge, talents and creation" is to make all sources of wealth flow fully; To treat traditional culture and foreign culture correctly, we must adhere to the principle of "making the past serve the present and making foreign things serve China".

The basic national policy is an overall, long-term and decisive policy related to national construction, social development and people's lives, and it is the most basic policy in the strategy of building the country and governing the country. The "basic national policy of family planning" is formulated by the party and the state in view of the serious population problem in China and is the only correct choice to solve the population problem in China at present. For another example, "saving resources", "protecting the environment" and "opening to the outside world" are all basic national policies in line with China's national conditions and must be adhered to for a long time.

Development strategy: It is the development strategy that determines the overall situation. "Sustainable development" strategy is an important development strategy for the Party and the country to correctly handle the relationship between economic development and population, resources and environment, implement Scientific Outlook on Development and develop Socialism with Chinese characteristics. For another example, "rejuvenating the country through science and education", "strengthening the country through talents" and "western development" are all development strategies that are in line with China's national conditions and must be adhered to for a long time.
