What is reeling?
Silk reeling process is so named because it is a kind of double-sided silk handicraft with three-dimensional effect, because it expresses the pattern through colored weft and forms the boundary of the pattern, thus achieving the effect of carving. However, although it is silk, the weaving method of reeling is different from embroidery and brocade.
When reeling silk, there is a special machine, also known as loom reeling machine. When reeling, the warp yarn is loaded on the loom, and the drawing or manuscript is lined under the warp yarn. Manufacturers use brushes to draw colorful patterns on warp yarns, and then weave them with small shuttles according to certain areas of the patterns.
