Determination of 1000-grain weight of seeds

The 1000-grain weight of seeds is a sign of seed fullness. The seeds of the same vegetable have different growth, plumpness and 1000-grain weight. Different kinds of vegetables have different 1000-grain weights. It is very important to know the 1000-grain weight for vegetable production, and the sowing amount is often calculated according to the 1000-grain weight in production.

The test method of 1000-grain weight is: take clean seeds, dry them, and take 2 ~ 3 seeds at random. Take 500 big seeds (melons, beans, etc. ) and 1000 seeds, weigh them with a balance, and the difference of repetition times is less than 5%. After averaging the data, calculate the 1000-grain weight.

Table 2 1 is the normal 1000-grain weight range of vegetable seeds. Below this range, it shows that the seed quality is poor and there are many withered seeds, which are not suitable for production.
