What areas does the northern region include?
The terrain in the northern part of the extended data is mainly plain, with both plateau and mountain. Northeast Plain and North China Plain are the largest and most complete plains in China. Northeast Plain is located between Daxing 'anling, Xiaoxing 'anling and Changbai Mountain, and is mainly composed of Songnen Plain, Sanjiang Plain and Liaohe Plain. North China Plain is located at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountains, east of Taihang Mountain, north of Huaihe River and east of the ocean. North China Plain is an alluvial plain formed by sediment deposition carried by the Yellow River and Haihe River in geological history.
The Loess Plateau is located in the area between the west of Taihang Mountain, the east of Wushaoling, the south of the Great Wall and the north of Qinling Mountain. The loess here is formed by aeolian accumulation during geological history.
At that time, the strong north wind blew the dust south. With the weakening of wind and the deposition of sand, a flat and towering loess source area has been formed. Later, with the large-scale destruction of vegetation, loose loess was easily washed away. Soil erosion is serious, and loess hills (loess gullies, loess beams and hairs) are formed. The Loess Plateau and the North China Plain are called "yellow land".
