What kinds of teapots are there?
1. Zisha pots can be divided into five categories according to the technology: naked pots, flower-shaped pots, square pots, ribbed pots and ceramic decorative pots.
2. Teapots can be divided into three categories by industry:
(1) Flower goods: that is, natural modeling. Purple clay pot is a kind of natural image and object shape seen in life, which is designed into the shape of purple clay pot by artistic means, such as pine pot, bamboo pot, plum pot, watermelon pot, etc., which is poetic and full of life breath. The Spring Tree Pot in Ming Dynasty is the earliest known flowerpot.

Ring goods, that is, the cross section of teapot is round or oval, such as round pot, beam pot, imitation drum pot, ball pot and so on.
(3) Square goods: the cross section of teapot is square, hexagonal and octagonal. Such as: monk's hat pot, furnace pot, shuttle pot, etc. Jin goods are created with melon ridges, petals, clouds and waterlines seen in life. This pot art requires that the spout, lid, spout, bottom and handle must be ribbed to match the texture of the pot body.

The raw material for firing teapot is mud, which can be divided into purple mud, green mud and red mud.
Mud that can be used to fire teapot is generally buried under the rock, and the thickness of the mud layer ranges from tens of centimeters to one meter.
According to the petrographic analysis of Shanghai Silicate Research Institute, the purple sand yellow mud belongs to the high-iron kaolin-Yingshi-mica type, with the highest iron content of 8.83%. The teapot is fired at high oxygen and high temperature, generally by flat fireworks contact, and the firing temperature is between1100-1200℃.
The water absorption of the finished teapot is above 2%. The clay raw materials of teapot are purple mud, green mud and red mud, commonly known as "rich soil". Because it is produced in Yixing, Jiangsu, it is called Yixing Zisha.
