2. Disadvantages: In the process of synthesizing acetic acid by methanol low-pressure carbonyl synthesis, methyl iodide and hydrogen iodide are used as cocatalysts. Because of the physical and chemical properties and process design of iodide, these iodide exist in the whole cycle of acetic acid production, so it is inevitable that there are a small amount of iodide in acetic acid products. The intermediate peracetic acid produced by acetaldehyde oxidation in the production process makes the production safety easy to ensure.
