Schematic diagram of valve adjustment sequence and method of diesel 4-cylinder engine

First of all, get the first cylinder of the engine, put the fourth cylinder in a row, the third cylinder in a row, and the second cylinder in a row! Then work on the fourth cylinder, adjust the first cylinder feed, the second cylinder feed and the third cylinder feed! Remember, the bigger the gap, the better.

The serial number is 1-3-4-2.

1. Turn cylinder 1 to TDC and adjust the exhaust valve near cylinder 1.

2. Turn the crankshaft to the working direction of the engine by 180 degrees, turn cylinder 3 to compression top dead center, and adjust the exhaust valve near cylinder 3.

3. Turn 180 degrees again, turn cylinder 4 to compression top dead center, and adjust cylinder 4 to near top dead center.

4. Adjust cylinder 2 accordingly.

Extended data:

The diesel engine valve can only be adjusted when it is completely closed: different automobile manufacturers have specific regulations and different technical requirements for the adjustment of valve clearance, such as whether it is adjusted in cold or hot state, and how big the adjusted clearance value should be.

Most cars are adjusted in a cold state. However, some vehicles need to be adjusted in a hot state (that is, after the water temperature reaches the normal working temperature). Some cars can be adjusted when they are cold or hot, but the valve clearance value is different when they are cold or hot.
