Phyllanthus urinaria is a biennial or perennial herb with a cylindrical stem with longitudinal edges, green wings and acupuncture. The leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, pinnately parted, the lobes are prickly at the edges, the heads are shriveled, the involucre is bell-shaped, yellow-brown, the flowers are purplish red, the crown is burr-shaped, yellow-white, and the smell is light.
Feilian is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, which has the functions of expelling wind, clearing heat, promoting diuresis, cooling blood and removing blood stasis. Also known as Feiqing (Classic), Tianqi, Zhu Fu, Futu, Luo Fei, Harmony (not recorded), Feilian Artemisia (Qianjin Fang Yi) and Niu Lao Cuo (Heilongjiang traditional Chinese medicine).
