Final Cut Pro clips the engineering document on the "NAS" server.

When using Final Cut Pro 10.4 or later, you can store the resource library on * * * shared storage systems using NFS or SMB file system protocols and other * * * shared storage volumes.

The Final Cut Pro repository is stored in local storage volumes, Xsan storage volumes and other SAN*, NFS or SMB file system volumes, and * * * shared storage systems using NFS or SMB protocols.

If the * * * storage system you want to use uses SMB protocol, the SMB volume must come from a macOS server or a Linux server running Samba 4.3.4 or later, and be configured with an Apple-compatible module.

Store external media on any * * * storage volume.

The above is the official statement. But we don't use many macOS servers in our work, and most of them use Qunhui servers. Then I will take the use of Qunhui server as an example to illustrate: it is best to connect by wire, using SMB or NFS protocol; Do not use afp.

There are two options.

1. Use NFS protocol.

2. SMB is still used, but the configuration of Samba service on Group Benefit needs to be modified.

One: using NFS protocol

In the group meeting, choose to use NFS protocol * * * to enjoy your FCP resource pool * * *.

On the Mac, use nfs:// Qunhui IP address to access the resource pool * * *.

In fact, it is to change the smb protocol to nfs (note: nfs/smb case is irrelevant)

Second: use SMB.

Open ssh service on Qunhui, and record the administrator account and password on Qunhui.

1.ssh remote connection Qunhui

. In the terminal of the Mac, run the command:

Ssh administrator @192.168.8.100

note:

A. Replace the above administrator with your Qunhui administrator account; B. Replace192.168.8.100 with your Qunhui IP address.

According to the prompt on the screen, enter the administrator password and press Enter to confirm.

2. Check the samba version on Qunhui.

. Enter the command to display the current Samba version:

Status -V

This version must be at least 4.3.4.

If the version is too low, you need to upgrade your Qunhui system: Station Manager-Knowledge Base | Synology Qunhui Technology official website.

Step 3 Change Samba Configuration

Enter the following command, enter the password when prompted, and then enter root:

Sudashima

Edit the smb.conf file with an editor, and use nano below. You can use something you are familiar with, such as vim:

nano /etc/samba/smb.conf

. Add the following line:

vfs objects=catia,fruit,streams_xattr

Type ctrl-x, and then type y to save and exit.

The edited file is as follows:

[Global]

printcap name=cups

Winbind enumeration group = Yes

include =/var/tmp/nginx/SMB . NetBIOS . aliases . conf

Security = user

Local host = No.

Domain = *

VFS objects = CATIA fruit streams _ xattr

passdb backend=smbpasswd

Printing = cups

Maximum protocol =SMB2

Winbind enumeration user = Yes

Load printer = Yes

Working group = working group

4. restart Samba service

Run command:

Restart smbd

According to Samba's instructions, the format of the above-mentioned added line should be:

VFS objects = CATIA fruit streams _ xattr

Pay attention to the spaces inside.

But someone on the Internet said that the following format is correct:

vfs objects=catia,fruit,streams_xattr

Please test it yourself.

Replace nano with vim as follows:

vim /etc/samba/smb.conf

Type the character: i to enter edit mode.

Then enter:

VFS objects = CATIA fruit streams _ xattr

Or:

vfs objects=catia,fruit,streams_xattr

After confirmation,

After pressing the esc key (exit edit mode)

Type the save exit command: ":wq!" (including all characters within "")

Input confirmation

I hope your problem can be solved.
