Modern service industry and traditional service industry

Modern service industry in a narrow sense is relative to traditional service industry. Traditional service industry refers to industries that provide various services for people's daily life, most of which have a long history, such as catering, hotels, commerce and so on. Modern service industry came into being in the relatively developed stage of industry, and developed mainly by information technology and modern management concepts, which is the product of the combination of information technology and service industry. They organically link social production, distribution and consumption through their own various service functions, and accelerate the operation of people flow, logistics, information flow and capital flow.

Broadly speaking, modern service industry is a service industry in the sense of modernization and informationization, and it refers to a new service industry system formed in the industrial structure on the basis of the growth of emerging service industries and the transformation and upgrading of traditional service industries. It is reflected in the important position of the whole service industry in the national economy and the employed population and the high level of information technology in the service industry, which has the characteristics of high human capital content, high technology content and high added value. The development shows the trend of "three innovations" in new technologies, new formats and new ways, which has the advantages of less resource consumption and less environmental pollution and is an important symbol of regional comprehensive competitiveness and modernization level.
