How to choose vegetable oil

Nowadays, many modern people have cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and eating vegetable oil has become their dietary choice. However, how to classify vegetable oils and how to select vegetable oils with reliable quality? See expert guidance. Vegetable oil is divided into four grades, except olive oil and special oil. Soybean oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, extracted peanut oil and extracted tea seed oil are generally divided into four grades, while pressed peanut oil, pressed tea seed oil and sesame oil are only divided into one or two grades. Different grades of edible oil have different limited values of composition and quality. The higher the grade, the stricter the limit value of edible oil. Pay attention to "six looks" when buying vegetable oil

Steps/methods

1/7 Step by step reading

A look: according to the national regulations, the ingredients list, quality grade, production date, shelf life and other contents must be marked on the outer packaging of edible oil, and there is also "QS", which is the food safety certification mark.

2/7

Second, look at the packaging: edible oil printed with commodity bar codes depends on whether the bar code printing is standardized and whether there are signs of alteration. When buying bottled oil, pay attention to check whether there is oil trace at the mouth of the barrel. If there are oil stains, it means that the seal is not tight, which will greatly shorten the storage time of edible oil.

3/7

Third, look at the color: the color of the first-grade oil is lighter than that of the second-grade oil, the third-grade oil and the fourth-grade oil, which is stipulated by the national standard. But the colors of different oils are not comparable.

4/7

Fourth, look at transparency: transparency is an important sensory index reflecting the purity of oil, and pure oil should be transparent. High-quality edible oil should be clear and free of impurities when observed by naked eyes under sunlight and light.

5/7

Fifth, look for sediment: high-quality edible oil should have no sediment and suspended matter, and its viscosity is relatively small.

6/7

Sixth, see if there is any stratification of edible oil: if there is stratification of edible oil, it is likely to be adulterated mixed oil.

How to choose different vegetable oils

Peanut oil: Look at the label first to understand the processing technology and grade of peanut oil. Secondly, look at the brand and try to choose products with good reputation from manufacturers. The primary pressed peanut oil and the secondary pressed peanut oil have rich peanut fragrance and taste, and have no peculiar smell. The smell and taste of the first and second grade extracted peanut oil are also good, and the third and fourth grade products have the unique smell of peanut oil without peculiar smell.

Sesame oil: read the label before buying sesame oil. The names are sesame oil, sesame oil, ground sesame oil and finished sesame oil. The processing technology of sesame oil includes pressing, filter pressing and leaching. Sesame oil is divided into two grades, but no matter which grade, the product should be clear and transparent, not turbid, not precipitated, not suspended, with obvious sesame oil fragrance and no peculiar smell.

Plant blending oil: The packaging of plant blending oil should clearly indicate the variety and content of raw materials and edible oil, and whether genetically modified raw materials are used.
