Regional customs in southern Zhejiang
There are some unique customs in southern Zhejiang. For example, every year in Wenzhou, on the first day of the second lunar month, from Le Kang Square to March 15th, Mayi Street, the main streets take turns to hold blessing activities, which are called "blocking streets to pray for blessings", which is a local traditional festival in Wenzhou. In the north-central Taizhou (Linhai, Xianju, Tiantai and Sanmen), as well as Ninghai, Dancheng Town and its southern areas in Xiangshan County, people celebrate the Lantern Festival on the 14th day of the first month. People in this area call it "Fourteen Nights" and hold a grand Lantern Festival celebration on the 14th day of the first month.
