How many ways are there for motor vehicle braking? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
Braking is braking. It is a mechanical part that stops or slows down the moving parts in the machine. Commonly known as brakes and brakes. Brake is mainly composed of brake frame, brake parts and operating device. Some brakes are also equipped with automatic adjustment devices for the clearance of brake parts. In order to reduce the braking torque and structural size, brakes are usually installed on the high-speed shaft of equipment, but large equipment with high safety requirements (such as mine hoists and elevators) should be installed on the low-speed shaft near the working part of the equipment. Some brakes have been standardized and serialized and made by professional factories for selection. Brakes are divided into service brakes (foot brakes) and parking brakes (hand brakes). In the process of driving, the service brake (foot brake) is generally used, which is convenient to slow down and stop in the process of moving forward, not just to keep the car stationary. If the service brake fails, use the parking brake. When the car stops, it is necessary to use the parking brake (hand brake) to prevent the car from sliding forward and backward. Generally, after parking, in addition to using the parking brake, you should shift into first gear when going uphill (to prevent backward sliding) and shift into reverse gear when going downhill (to prevent forward sliding). The resistance torque that must be applied to stop or slow down the mechanical moving parts is called braking torque. Braking torque is the basis for designing and selecting brakes, and its magnitude is determined by mechanical type and working requirements. The performance of friction materials (brake parts) used in brakes directly affects the braking process, and the main factors affecting its performance are working temperature and temperature rise speed. Friction materials should have high and stable friction coefficient and good wear resistance. Friction materials are divided into metal and nonmetal.
