Expanded Information:

Shangqiu is the most famous city in China. p>The legendary story of Shangqiu's place name:

Anciently, people ate raw food, and then, due to natural causes such as thunder and lightning and wind, natural fires were formed, which cooked things such as tree seeds and beasts that couldn't escape in time. People picked and ate them and realized that cooked food was much tastier than raw food.

So they slowly learned to put their food on the fire and roast it. At that time, there was no ready-made fire tools, people saw thunder and lightning forest fires, as if they were a treasure, and try to find ways to save the fire.

On one occasion, when Emperor ?a?dou Xuanbo, his son, was on an inspection tour of his subjects, he came to a place where the people were still eating raw food, and most of them were physically weak and sickly. Emperor ?ukú took great pity on them and asked why they did not eat cooked food.

The people replied, "There is no fire." êêêêêêêêêêThe emperor asked, òWhy don?t you look elsewhere? Draw the fire and don't let it go out!" The people said to him, "I have looked for it a few times, but sometimes it has gone out because of the lack of supply of firewood and grass, and sometimes because of flooding."

Emperor ?a?rul looked around, and sure enough, there were ashes from the fire that had been extinguished by the flooded river. He couldn't help but let out a long sigh, and thought to himself: how can we think of a way to keep the fire from going out? After thinking for a while, he said to Xiongnu in a serious tone, "Look, right now, help the subjects here to draw the fire.

And manage the fire well to keep it from going out, is a big matter of life and death for the subjects here, you are my most capable son, I want you to do this, how about it?" Xiongnu was a loyal and obedient man, and immediately agreed with his mouth full.

From then on, Xiongnu became the "Fire Chief" of the area, and this area became the fiefdom of Xiongnu, which was given the name "Shang" by Emperor ?ü. When Xiongnu was appointed to this place, he was so busy working on the fire affairs that he couldn't eat or sleep well.

First, he led the people to bring fire from far away, and made a mound, put the fire on the mound, and put a canopy on the top to protect it from the rain, so that the rain in the sky couldn't extinguish the fire, and the flooding of the river couldn't soak out the fire.

Then he led the people around to look for firewood, and thanks to Xiongnu's wisdom and hard work, the people of Shang were able not only to build fires everywhere, but also to keep them burning for a long time.

Everyone was grateful to Xiongnu, saying that he was a god from the sky who had come down to the earth to bring good to the people. After Xiongnu's death, the people remembered his merits and with reverence, buried him with the thickest funeral of the time on the mound where they had kept the fire during his lifetime.

According to the custom of the time, each person who mourned him had to add a bag of yellow earth to his grave. As a result, the mound was piled up bigger and bigger. Because Xiongnu's title was "Shang", the mound became known as "Shangqiu" (商丘). As time went by, "Shangqiu" became the name of the place.
