Wuhu customs and etiquette
On the morning of New Year's Day, families first drink sugar tea, which means sweetness. Then they usually have "rice cakes", "spiced eggs", chicken noodle soup and jiaozi. Then, the family pays a New Year call and wishes each other: "add happiness and longevity, step by step, happy New Year, congratulations on making a fortune, happy New Year" and so on. The host and guest entertain them by making tea, handing out cigarettes, and inviting them to eat refreshments, melon seeds and sweets. Friends and relatives who are far away from home, Qingshui people mostly call to pay New Year's greetings. On New Year's Day, we don't worship relatives, but only one family.
No sweeping, splashing, digging, cutting or hanging clothes from the first day to the third day of the Lunar New Year. Don't say unlucky things for three days, and don't beat and scold children. On the second day of the lunar new year, I began to visit relatives and friends, which is the so-called "New Year's greetings". The order of New Year's greetings is very particular. Generally speaking, it is first clan, then uncle, then grandfather, then husband, then aunt and cousin.
