What are the battery classifications of new energy vehicles now?

New energy vehicles have now become the mainstream trend of automobiles, and there are more and more green cars on the road. The most important component in new energy vehicles is naturally the battery. Do you know several mainstream car batteries now?

1, fuel cell

Fuel cell is a non-combustion electrochemical energy conversion device. The chemical energy of hydrogen (such as fuel) and oxygen is continuously converted into electrical energy.

Its working principle is that H2 is oxidized into H+ and e- under the action of anode catalyst, H+ reaches the anode through proton exchange membrane, reacts with O2 at the cathode to generate water, and e- reaches the cathode through external circuit, and continuously reacts to generate current.

Although fuel cell has the word "battery", it is not an energy storage device in the traditional sense, but a power generation device, which is the biggest difference between fuel cell and traditional battery.

2. Lithium battery

Traditional lead-acid batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries are mature in technology, but there are big problems when they are used as power batteries in automobiles. At present, more and more automobile manufacturers choose to use lithium batteries as power batteries for new energy vehicles.

Lithium metal batteries generally use manganese dioxide as the positive electrode material, lithium metal or its alloy metal as the negative electrode material, and use non-aqueous electrolyte. Lithium battery materials mainly include: anode material, cathode material, separator and electrolyte.

3. Ternary lithium battery

Advantages: ternary lithium ion battery has high energy density, long cycle life and is not afraid of low temperature; Disadvantages: insufficient stability at high temperature.

Usage: pure electric vehicle with cruising range, which is the mainstream direction, suitable for northern weather, and the battery is more stable at low temperature.
