The difference with Ruan
As far as I know, the situation is as follows:
Yueqin and Ruan have different shapes.
Yueqin is a plucked instrument, which usually has four strings, rectangular, narrow neck and wide body.
Ruan is a pipa with four strings, a wide neck and a round or oval body.
When playing Qin Yue, the player takes a sitting position, holding the piano in his left hand and plucking the strings with his index finger, middle finger and ring finger in his right hand.
Ruan's playing style is similar to that of Yueqin, but because of the wide neck, the player needs to stand and pluck the strings with his fingers.
