What is the difference between western music and ancient Chinese music?
Ancient Chinese music is based on the pentatonic scale, the full scale is 1 Du 2 Lai 3 Mi 4 Fa 5 Sou 6 La 7 Hei. The 4 and 7 are chromatic scales. Western music is in 7-tone mode, and their music contains 4 and 7, while Chinese music has only 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, which is called pentatonic mode. In pentatonic mode, the harmonics are chords, while in seventh mode, there are dissonances, which sounds better. Overall, Chinese music sounds softer, while Western music sounds dissonant in some places, but the harmonics and dissonances sound good together. If you have any questions, please ask. Maybe I'm not being clear enough, lol, a bit of a problem expressing myself.
