Legend of the Fire Dance Company on New Year's Eve
The custom of jumping fire group was formed in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. After Genghis Khan destroyed Song Jianyuan, although the overall situation has been set, the society is still in turmoil. In order to suppress the people's resistance, the Yuan Dynasty formulated a centralized rule policy of "three families support one yuan", that is, three folk families must jointly support a soldier of the Yuan Dynasty and be supervised by them. All knives, axes, scissors and other sharp tools of the three families should be kept by Yuan Bing. Every time you use a tool, you need to apply first, you can lend it after approval, and you should hand it in immediately after use. Under the high-pressure policy, people naturally complain. By the end of the Yuan Dynasty, wars and natural disasters continued, and the people were miserable. After Zhu Yuanzhang led the army into Yanjing, in order to get rid of the oppression of the Yuan soldiers, the Han people in southern Fujian took the opportunity to rebel and agreed to lend all the knives, axes and other sharp tools kept by the Yuan soldiers at the same time on New Year's Eve. That night, in the name of arson, the people rose up and rebelled, killing Yuan soldiers overnight. Therefore, there is a saying in southern Fujian that "three families and one yuan, all killed overnight".
Since then, on New Year's Eve, every household in southern Fujian has lit a fire, originally to commemorate the uprising, and later it has gradually become a folk custom, with the meaning of "burning evil spirits in the old year and celebrating good luck in the new year", expressing people's desire to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, and to seek good fortune and avoid evil. Therefore, there is such a ballad when jumping into the fire group: "jump in and make a fortune every year;" Jump out, carefree, carefree; Skip the east, the grain is not empty; Skip the west and money will roll in. "
Nowadays, with the accelerated pace of life, this folk custom has almost disappeared in Shishi, but the story about "jumping into the fire" has been passed down. (
