British Nautical Clock Inventor: John Harrison (1693 -1776) : Harrison took more than 40 years to build five nautical clocks, among which the "HMS 4" completed in 1759 was the most outstanding, which sailed for 64 days. It sailed for 64 days and was only 5 seconds slower than the minimum error (2 minutes) stipulated in the Act, which perfectly solved the problem of longitude positioning in navigation.
