Ice Ribbon Venue Introduction
The National Speed Skating Stadium, also known as the "Ice Ribbon", is the iconic venue for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in the Beijing Main Competition Area, and the only newly built ice competition venue.
The Ice Ribbon Stadium is located at No. 2, Lincui Road, near the Olympic Park in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The design concept of the "Ice Ribbon" comes from the idea of combining ice and speed, with 22 ribbons resembling the traces of athletes skating past, symbolizing speed and passion. The National Speed Skating Center will serve as the venue for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games Avenue Speed Skating Competition. It has the largest all-ice design in Asia, with an ice surface area of 12,000 square meters.
On weekdays, more than 2,000 people can be received at the same time to carry out ice hockey, speed skating, figure skating, curling and other ice sports. 2021, January 22, the National Speed Skating Hall for the first time the smooth implementation of the ice production, the success of the production of the speed skating track; the same year, from April 7 to April 10, the National Speed Skating Hall to hold the speed skating competitions; in 2022, July 9, the National Speed Skating Hall On July 9, 2022, the National Speed Skating Complex was officially opened to the public as the "Ice Ribbon".
Architectural Layout
The National Speed Skating Arena adopts an all-ice design, with an ice surface area of about 12,000 square meters. Set up 400 meters of skating track, with 12,000 seats. The ice competition area of the National Speed Skating Arena is planned to have three 400-meter speed skating competition lanes, one speed skating competition practice lane, one 60-meter by 30-meter multi-purpose ice rink, one 61-meter by 31-meter multi-purpose ice rink, and one movable ice rink.
The arena is divided into three main parts: arena attractions, off-ice attractions and skating experience services. Inside the arena, visitors can learn about the history and culture of the "Double Olympics" at the Olympic Emblem Cultural Exhibition, view the sculpture "Red Tough", and experience the "Water into Ice" interactive installation.
Off-site, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the Ice Ribbon Lake, in the West Plaza and the Ice Pier card point to take a picture, in the Zhao Hui monument to quietly watch the history of change and so on. Not only that, but visitors can also have an experience on the ice.
