What qualities of Chinese culture are conducive to innovation? And what are the qualities that hinder innovation?

As we all know, China's current modernization is in a period of transition, and there is a very bad phenomenon that the more the so-called modernization is, the more it abandons our Chineseization. This is true both in terms of political and legal system as well as ideology and culture. It is as if Chineseization (I simply sum up China's localization, tradition, and things with distinctive Chinese characteristics as "Chineseization") is inherently incompatible with modernization and full of contradictions. At a time when we are accepting westernization, globalization and entering the WTO in a big way, Chineseization is being greatly attacked. To take a simple example, how many young people nowadays worship the teachings of Confucius and Laozi? How many of them don't like Japanese, Korean, American Hollywood movies, western cowboys, NBA? Here I think, to the Japanese tide of Korean and Hollywood movies as the representative of the popular culture is actually cultural garbage, some people say it is "cultural fast food", in fact, it is the same meaning, fast food to eat in the stomach, not much nutrition after digestion, it's garbage in its original form is exposed. Such cultural fast food is essentially cultural garbage. Undeniably, a very small part of which has become a classic of the world, the so-called "garbage heap also have treasure", we accept the cultural fast food at the same time, we can not help but hold a rational attitude towards it. Young people like me have an irrational attitude, that is, crazy star chasing, star worship. Chasing the star to chase the family lost all their money, slit their wrists to commit suicide. I have never chased any star, singing well like the song on the line, no one because I think the eggs are delicious, and break the pot to ask in the end this egg is which hen laid. The terrible thing about cultural garbage is that the frog is boiled in a pot of warm water and then slowly cooked and eaten. Without further ado, since we are now so confused about Chineseization and so alienated from Chinese tradition, we must first ask, what are the qualities of Chinese culture? After my summary of Mr. Lifu's views, I concluded that Chinese culture has the following qualities.

1. Chinese culture is a culture that is broad and deep, tolerant, and has both a good academic and moral tradition.

There is no need to explain too much about the depth and breadth of Chinese culture, which is recognized worldwide as an ancient civilization and a great civilization, and the Chinese culture is well systematized. Tolerance is great---Chinese culture has a strong geographic integration, with a strong capacity for cultural tolerance. In the "on the clash of cultures and the clash of civilizations," I have said that Chinese culture consists of many sub-cultures organically, up and down five thousand years of Chinese culture in the process of the long history of the evolution of the Chinese culture, absorbed and fused with the southern culture of the Chu culture, the barbaric Yue culture, the culture of Qilu, Yan and Zhao cultures, the Guanzhong culture, the culture of Ba Shu, and later to the Xiongnu, the Eastern Hu, Xianbei, Mongolia, Qidan, Qiang, daisies, female genitalia and other nomadic cultures, the Genghis Khan's iron cavalry is again powerful but only to take down the Middle Kingdom. Genghis Khan's iron cavalry again powerful, but also is the capture of the entity of the Central Plains city, but as usual by the integration of the culture of the Central Plains, the Mongols to the Central Plains did not turn the plains into grasslands, but also did not continue to continue their tribal court system as usual along the Central Plains of the feudal monarchical system. In the military Genghis Khan, Kublai conquered the Central Plains, in the culture of the two strong men and their peoples were conquered by the Central Plains, willing to surrender. This is the tolerant nature of Chinese culture. Taoist and academic, two words we do not have to understand too much, the two words are very cumbersome to explain. I simply summarize the Taoist system as --- began with the ancestors of China's ancient times, forming an orthodox spiritual and cultural system with the principles of justice, sincerity, benevolence, and behavior, and inventing the principles of mankind's *** birth, *** existence, and *** evolution. This Taoist system, which has continued since Yao, Shun, Yu, Tang, Wen, Wu, Zhou Gong, and Confucius, is the genetic basis of Chinese culture. Academic tradition can simply be thought of as a nation's academic tradition, a system of academic thought. "Academic tradition is not a system of inheritance from one family or one school. It is centered on philosophy, and employs humanities, natural sciences, and so on. In philosophy it should in turn be centered on the dominant doctrines of each period, and empire and other different schools of thought. Doctrine should be a multidimensional system containing many levels and aspects." The Chinese academic system, I think one sentence can be named - respect what is the same, love what is different. This is the great essence, the essence of traditional Chinese scholarship. The good Taoist tradition has made the lifeblood of Chinese culture last for 5,000 years without ceasing, and has pushed forward new ideas; it has shaped the complete spirit of Chinese culture and national spirit, and has made Chinese civilization a bright pearl in the world's civilization. A good academic system has made Chinese culture courageous in innovation and self-criticism; it has also made the national spirit aware of shame and humiliation, and self-improvement. Chinese culture is still full of vitality, thanks to the Taoist and academic traditions. Taoism is the bone, learning is the flesh; Chinese civilization is the only thing that is always new and everlasting.

2. Chinese culture is a virtue-based culture, filial piety-based culture, and human-centered culture.

The so-called "virtue-based" culture is based on benevolence, righteousness and morality, and emphasizes the defense of man and beast and human morality. A moral culture nurtures a moral nation, and a moral nation nurtures a moral politics, which is also known as "moral governance". In ancient China, the most important thing was to rule by virtue, to rule the world by virtue, and to serve the people by virtue. Regardless of this kind of moral rule, true or false; the idea of moral rule is y rooted in people's hearts and minds, the Chinese nation attaches great importance to the level of human morality, especially for the moral level of the politicians, the legal system to treat the symptoms, moral rule to treat the root of the problem!

The so-called filial piety is based on filial piety and fraternal duty, and attaches importance to the filial piety and fraternal duty to parents and brothers. Ancient Chinese people emphasized that a person should do filial piety and filial piety to his parents; it is still the same today. If a person is not filial to his parents, then he will be greatly criticized and condemned by bystanders. Ruling the world by filial piety is also a strategy for kings to rule the world. Filial piety is also a fine traditional virtue of our Chinese nation, and its connotation has still not lost its meaning.

Whether filial piety-based or virtue-based; both come down to the human nature. Confucianism, our ancient orthodox philosophy, attaches great importance to the people-oriented, and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you is the best interpretation of the people-oriented. Most of the other philosophical schools also attach importance to the human being and emphasize the role of human beings. Because they also attach great importance to the people in their doctrines, I call them "people-oriented". Taoism: Man follows the law of the earth, the law of the earth follows the law of the sky, the law of the sky follows the law of the Tao, and the law of the Tao follows nature. It can be seen that Taoism also attaches great importance to the role of human beings. In Mohism, love, non-attack, commonality, the rule of heaven, and the brightest ghosts all involve emphasizing the role of the individual human being. At this point, I have to say that China is nearly 2,000 years ahead of the West, and it was only in the 16th century, when the Renaissance was in full swing, that the demand for the liberation of human nature and the importance of the role of human beings was clearly stated, and the concept of the human being was only just beginning to take shape.

At this point, I would also venture to speculate that the emphasis on the human being and the role of the human being is also the reason why the Chinese science of mind is particularly developed. Lu Jiuyuan of the Song and Ming dynasties and Wang Yangming's teleology (science), "My mind is the universe, and the universe is my mind". Although this statement is very idealistic, but this is how valued individual life, the importance of the nature of the heart ah. So humanism is also one of the qualities of Chinese culture.

3. Chinese culture is precocious and sustainable. Chinese culture is precocious, it is easy to understand, China not only in ancient times ahead of the West hundreds or even thousands of years, but also more importantly, Chinese culture is all-encompassing, has long penetrated a large number of propositions about society, nature and people. A copy of the I Ching is enough for a large number of thinkers to study for the rest of their lives; the precociousness of the culture has brought about the self-confidence of our nation, and the Chinese civilization has shone brightly. Sustainable development, the ancient Chinese people have always been concerned about leaving a way out for their children and grandchildren; at the same time, the Chinese culture in the system lifeblood, consistently inherited, and constantly improve the development.

4. Chinese culture is a culture that is still socially relevant and can help us find what is missing in modernization.

China's "human-animal debate" has been talked about for 5,000 years. Chinese culture is a culture of human beings, and the social Darwinism of "survival of the fittest and the weakest and the strongest" is a non-human culture, which is accompanied by the Western principle of market economy. In the era of globalization, this inhuman culture of counter-culture has become widespread. Social Darwinism is very aggressive, and the world it represents is a hegemonic world where power is justice. Therefore, the evolutionary principle of social Darwinism, "the survival of the fittest", can only be applied to the period of species evolution, but not to the period of human evolution, especially the period of the evolution of human intelligence. We may think that this statement is a big fallacy. Think about it, if human beings, after they have left the natural world, are still "the weakest and the strongest, the survival of the fittest," then what is the obvious difference between them and those animals that are still in the natural world? Since the animal nature of human beings still exists, how can we say that human beings have progressed? In the final analysis, to insist on "the survival of the fittest and the survival of the fittest" in human beings and society is to insist on the animal nature of human beings and to insist on barbarism to oppose progress; we fail to see that this principle is only applicable to a certain stage and does not have a broad universal significance. Since Chinese culture attaches importance to the role of human beings and emphasizes the human nature, the human nature of Chinese culture, such as: propriety, justice, honesty, loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, righteousness, faith and peace (the four dimensions and eight virtues), has an important guiding significance for the present oligarchic and shamelessness of our real society, the moral vacuum, the proliferation of pseudo-moralism, the emphasis on profit over righteousness, and the great abundance of the material world, and the spiritual world is a barren one. Why is nationalism so hot? Yu Dan, Yi Zhongtian, Qian Wenzhong so respected? I respect this and a number of people are keen to promote the essence of Chinese culture, more relevant is the Chinese culture in the modernization is still quite a market, people from the traditional Chinese culture to find the meaning of life, is conducive to bridging the gap between human nature, is conducive to finding a reasonable and noble spiritual support, is conducive to the reconstruction of the people's faith.

5. Chinese culture is a culture of "harmony", and a culture that is always new and up to date.

Speaking of "peace", I must say that this is where the Chinese people have made a significant contribution to humanity. The Chinese people are the most peace-loving people, and they have always emphasized the importance of "harmony" and "harmony as a family". If we in China did not have the idea of peace, and if we had fascism, according to the fact that China's land area is nearly 26 times larger than Japan's, and its population is 10 times larger than Japan's; China would be able to dominate the Greater East Asia and colonize the Eastern Hemisphere, and it would be able to carry out a crazy invasion of the people of East Asia, and would be able to kill and loot them. The Chinese people attach importance to "neutralization", "harmony" and "concord". Harmony is the core of the Middle Way, the art of neutralization. Harmony, and that is to say, harmony. Harmony, that is, emphasizes the organic and orderly *** birth *** existence of man, nature and society, friendly coexistence, *** with progress and development. China's philosophical view of heaven and mankind, the unity of heaven and man is sufficient to explain, I will not repeat. The unity of man in heaven is to emphasize that man and nature live in harmony, ***exist*** development; this also shows that Chinese culture is more precocious than Western culture. Chinese culture is a culture that is always new since ancient times, which not only means that Chinese culture has a long history and is self-renewing; it also shows that Chinese culture has a strong source of vitality. The fact that Chinese culture has been able to continue to develop for 5,000 years without fail is that Chinese culture is constantly seeking innovation and development, and constantly discarding the essence and dregs of its culture, so that it is able to keep up with the times and lead the trend of the times and the society. From the Way of Confucius and Mencius, to the Confucianism of Dong Zhongshu, to the famous teachings of the two Han dynasties, to the Song and Ming New Learning and the School of Reasoning, and finally to the Neo-Confucianism that has been carried on from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period to the present day (represented by Xiong Shili, Feng Youlan, and Liang Shuming, etc.), the doctrines of Confucianism have all continued to innovate and develop on their own. This is also the self-renewal development of the mainstream culture of China.
