Brief introduction and detailed information of bowl dance
According to the popular folk dance "Cup Dance", as well as "Top Bowl Dance" and "Small Cup Dance" in Zhao Meng, Inner Mongolia, it is adapted and created. Primitive folk dance is an impromptu dance when herdsmen celebrate banquets and honor guests, and when they are drunk and hot. In the adapted cup dance, the performers wore women's costumes in Ordos region, wearing three or four porcelain bowls on their heads and holding a pair of porcelain wine glasses in each hand. When dancing, the head is calm, the upper body is dignified, the bowl and the head are integrated, the hands hit a small wine cup, the wrists swing, the arms swing, the movements are both rigid and flexible, and they are free and easy. The difficult movements in dance, such as continuous and rapid "flat turn" and "broken shoulder", show the dancer's technical level. This kind of dance vividly depicts the dignified, warm, soft and generous personality characteristics of Mongolian women.
Characteristics of Bowl Dance Bowl dance is basically kneeling and standing in the same place because it is limited by the venue (Mongolian yurt) props (lamp bowl). It is mainly borrowed from Cinnamomum camphora, which is rubbed on the hands, wrists, arms and shoulders, and bent back and forth with the waist as the axis to perform. Skilled people can also hold the lamp in their hands and make a meteor-like spiral motion while running fast. At this time, the light flame is swaying, and the dance is light and smooth, full of unique charm.
Dance embodies the hardworking, simple, pure and lively character and happy mood of Mongolian women. Now it has developed into a group dance, which is deeply loved by the people.
The performer of the cup dance holds two small glasses together, holds the bottom of the lower cup with his thumb, holds the inner side of the upper cup with his middle finger, and holds the outer edge of the upper cup with the inner sides of his index finger and ring finger. When two small wine glasses collide, they use the upper cup to collide with the lower cup. Accompanied by the bell-like sound of the cup, the dancer slowly stood up, stretched and folded his arms, circled over his chest, moved back and forth or walked in circles. Bowl dancing is characterized by many shoulder movements. Mongolian people living in the prairie have to move their shoulders when riding, riding, shearing wool, milking and wrestling during the day, so the action of forming bowl dance is mainly the upper body.
