The 5s model of evidence-based medicine includes
Evidence-based medicine (EBM) refers to the combination of the best external clinical evidence with the clinician's individualized diagnostic and treatment experience to make better diagnostic and treatment decisions. In order to improve the quality of the practice of evidence-based medicine, the 5S model has been proposed, which consists of the following 5 steps:
Search: retrieve relevant and up-to-date information on research literature, guidelines, and systematic evaluations, and screen for useful evidence.
Summarize (Summarize): Evaluate the screened literature and extract information such as its credibility, applicability, research methods and results.
Evaluate (Evaluate): evaluates the extracted literature for factors such as methodological quality, internal and external validity, risks and benefits to determine its applicability to clinical practice.
Apply: Apply the evaluated evidence to clinical practice to help physicians make more accurate and effective treatment decisions.
Feedback: To provide feedback on problems that arise during the application process in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of evidence-based medicine.
The above are the five steps of the 5S model of evidence-based medicine, which are widely used in evidence-based medicine practice and research, and help to improve the level of diagnosis and treatment decision-making of health workers and patient outcomes.
