Evidence-based medicine (EBM) refers to the combination of the best external clinical evidence with the clinician's individualized diagnostic and treatment experience to make better diagnostic and treatment decisions. In order to improve the quality of the practice of evidence-based medicine, the 5S model has been proposed, which consists of the following 5 steps:

Apply: Apply the evaluated evidence to clinical practice to help physicians make more accurate and effective treatment decisions.

Feedback: To provide feedback on problems that arise during the application process in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of evidence-based medicine.
