The new museum (including the Garden of Historical and Cultural Celebrities) project is a key cultural facility construction project in the city. It is located in the eastern part of the city, in the East Lake Planning Area of ??Xuefu New Town, covering an area of ??73,000 square meters, with a total construction area of ??53,000 square meters (including Guan Hanqing Grand Theater ), the overall building has three floors above ground and one underground floor, with a total investment of 580 million yuan. The architectural design plan was entrusted to the China Architectural Design Institute and compiled by Cui Kai, vice president, chief architect and national design master of the institute. The project is located on the bank of Donghu Lake on Qiyi East Road. It consists of two parts: the Guan Hanqing Grand Theater and the museum. It also has various functional areas such as the Historical and Cultural Celebrities Garden and the Film Screening. It can meet the needs of various large-scale theatrical performances and conferences. The project passed the review on April 30, 2010 and is now under construction.
