What was Rongchang County in Chongqing called in ancient times?
Rongchang has a long history and is known as the "hometown of begonia". As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, Rongchang was the territory of Pakistan. After the Western Han Dynasty, the county belonged to Jiangyang and Han 'an counties. In the first month of the second year of the Tang Dynasty, in 758 AD, Changzhou was established, governing Changyuan, Jingnan and Dazu counties. The establishment of Changyuan County is the beginning of Rongchang County and the seat of Tang Changfu. In the seventh year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1374), it was renamed Rongchang County, which is now under the jurisdiction of Changyuan Town and belongs to Chongqing Prefecture.
