Folk Culture of Jiaozishan Town
Di Opera is a popular local opera in Anshun City, Guizhou Province. Its appearance was related to Anshun Tunjun troops from Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Henan and other places in the early Ming Dynasty. In the Ming dynasty, the army set up 24 guards and 26 thousand households in Guizhou, including 3 guards and 2 thousand households in Anshun. According to historical records, the sergeant of the Guards was called "Tunpu people". With the Tunpu people, local operas appeared.
Anshun local opera performance is based on the village, and the actors are all authentic farmers. Generally, a village has one scene, and there are twenty or thirty actors, and the "God Head" is responsible. The performance is held during the Spring Festival in July of the lunar calendar and the rice flowering season. When the villagers build houses to seek wealth and pray for their children, they will also invite the "immortals" in the local troupe, such as Guan Yu and She Taijun, to "open the door" and "send the prince" and other activities.
Anshun local opera is an ancient drama, which is characterized by performers wearing green scarves, waists, skirts, masks, spears and halberds, and dancing along with singing. He sang a rap that rhymed with a seven-character cross. Accompanied by a gong and a drum, one person leads the singer, which has a aftertaste of Yiyang old tune. The main characteristics of his dance are fighting and killing, vigorous and rough, simple and vigorous. The thirty or so great books performed by Anshun local opera are characterized by Xue Jiajiang, Yang Jiajiang, Yue Jiajiang, Di Jiajiang, Heroes of the Three Kingdoms, and Heroes of Wagang, which are deeply loved by Tunpu people. They praise loyalty to the monarch and soldiers who serve the country. The content is all about the battle story between Jin Ge and Ma Tie.
Anshun local opera is a rare living material for studying drama genetics, anthropology, religion, folklore and other disciplines. However, under the impact of modern culture, its performances are gradually shrinking, the actors are older and the number is decreasing year by year. Many villages with local opera teams have been closed for many years. It is urgent to protect this ancient drama with rich cultural connotation.
